Brian's background includes athletics at the NCAA Division I level, military service in the United States Navy, counseling with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department, serving in sales and executive positions with American Greetings Corporation nationally, and small business turnarounds and start-ups in Dallas, Texas, in addition to consulting, speaking, and training.
Utilizing sound business principles, Brian coached and mentored over 22 managers to executive and entrepreneurial positions throughout the country and has helped business leaders develop leaders and grow profitable revenue in multiple industries.
A graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, located in Charleston, South Carolina, Brian earned a BA degree in history while fully participating in the military training provided at the school as well as participation as a member of the Division I varsity basketball program. Following his military service, Brian earned a Master in Education degree in general counseling at The Citadel while working fulltime and providing for his family. In his book, My Losing Season, written about The Citadel's 1966-67 basketball team, author Pat Conroy described Brian as irrepressible, a trait that has served him well throughout his career.
